Wanda Quigg

Student Services - Student Support Consultant

About Me

My name is Wanda Quigg and I moved here with my husband and daughter in 1998. I joined the staff in 1999 and have enjoyed my time at Mackenzie Mountain School. I have taught every grade from kindergarten to grade 12. While each age group has its challenges, I have learned something from every student that I have taught. The biggest joy I get is seeing the students grow up into productive and self-assured adults.

My second daughter was born in 2000 and both girls have attended Mackenzie Mountain School. We have many great memories, such as the annual egg drop and the Halloween parade.  They have had many opportunities to travel to the other communities in the north and have experienced many diverse cultures unavailable to most attending school down south.

While I was the Program Support Teacher, I kept my hand in teaching by teaching an Art class. Art is my passion and I love creating and sharing it. I enjoy watching the budding artists emerge and I hope that the students will continue to explore what art has to offer as they become adults.

Now I am the School Programs Consultant. I get to travel throughout the region and see the wonderful scenery that the Sahtu has to offer. I am so excited that I get to visit the schools in the Sahtu.
