Administration - Superintendent
I am currently in my nineteenth year as superintendent of the Sahtu DEC, and twenty-eighth year in the Northwest Territories. Prior to this position, I spent six years as principal of Attagoyuk School in Pangnirtung. Prior to that, I spent three years as Vice-Principal and teacher at Peter Pitseolak School in Cape Dorset.
Before moving North in 1989, I taught for five years in Alberta (at Kehewin and at Morley).
I have a B.Sc. (Physics) and a B.Ed (Mathematics) from the university of Alberta, and an M.Ed. (Administration) from the University of Calgary.
I am responsible for all aspects of administration for the Sahtu DEC, including budgeting, hiring, supervision, PR, board relations, directives, etc.
My wife, Wanda, and I moved North together and both our daughters were born here. We have enjoyed life in all of the communities we’ve lived in, and are both planning to spend the remainder of our careers here.
